Scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008 at the famous Universal Studios Hollywood, all players, coaches, broadcasters and alumni - including Marty McSorley and Marcel Dionne - will be on hand to receive a $1 “tip” for an autograph and/or a $2 “tip” for a photograph from their loyal fans. All proceeds benefit the Kings Care Foundation, the LA Kings award winning non-profit organization that provides educational and recreational opportunities for children throughout Greater Los Angeles.
This is the single largest fundraiser for the Kings Care Foundation. Each year the entire Los Angeles Kings Hockey Club and its fans join together for this fun-filled celebration, which for over 16 years has raised more than $2 million for local children’s charities.
The 250-person VIP Reception sponsored by Toyota will begin at 5:00pm at the park’s premiere event venue, The Globe Theatre. Those in attendance will enjoy Wolfgang Puck’s famous barbecue menu and bar service and have the opportunity to spend one hour obtaining player autographs and photographs prior to the General Admission portion of the event. Attendees of the VIP Reception will also have access to preview and bid on items featured at the exciting silent auction that will feature Kings and NHL Memorabilia along with other spectacular sports, entertainment and travel packages
Kicking off Tip-A-King 2008 General Admission, will be a special version of Fear Factor Live! at 6pm. Three lucky fans will be able to compete against a few of their favorite Kings players as they perform gravity-defying stunts in front of the whole audience. Following the show, we will have a special Live Auction featuring one-of-a-kind Kings Experiences!
Additionally, complimentary Universal dollars will be provided for all guests to enjoy the Cyber Grill or Mel’s Diner. The fan favorite Mystery Envelopes and Golden Pucks will be also available for purchase. In past years, lucky fans have taken home items such as trips, autographed memorabilia and luxury gift items.
